Why this archive exists

The original workshop website at vhf-workshop.com was linked from the German Federal Ministry of Health's announcement of the event. This archive keeps a factual record of what the workshop was about and adds plain-language explanations of the diseases discussed, based on current public-health sources.

How content is researched

  1. Primary and official sources first: WHO, ECDC, CDC, the European Medicines Agency, national institutes such as the Robert Koch Institute and Institut Pasteur, and government announcements.
  2. Peer-reviewed literature for clinical and laboratory detail.
  3. No invented facts: figures, dates and names appear only when a source supports them; each page lists its sources.
  4. Clear limits: where information could not be verified – such as the original programme or speaker list – the page says so.
  5. Review date: each page shows when it was last reviewed.

Medical disclaimer

Content on this site is general information and does not replace advice from a doctor or public-health authority. In a suspected case, contact a doctor or the local health authority by phone first and describe the travel or exposure history.

Corrections

Facts about outbreaks, vaccines and treatments change. When an official source updates its figures or recommendations, the corresponding page is revised and its review date updated.
